President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, December 15, commissioned three war ships and 27 patrol boats at the Nigerian Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island, Lagos state.
One of the war ships commissioned was said to have been imported while the two others were built locally.
However, national leader of the All Progressives Congresss Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was conspicuously absent at the commissioning ceremony despite his house being a stone-throw away from the venue of the event.
It was gathered that the president who touched down at the presidential wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Thursday noon was received by the state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
Buhari was accompanied on the visit by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, other ministers, army chiefs as well as the police.
