Coutinho To Paris
French side Paris St-Germain are preparing a £40m January bid for Liverpool’s star Brazilian forward Philippe Coutinho, 24.

The French club failed with a £22m offer for the Brazilian forward last summer, but are ready to come back again with a double-your-money offer for a player they have coveted for some time.

Coutinho, 24, has been out for seven weeks with ankle ligament problems, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has ruled him unlikely to return in time for the New Year’s Day top-of-the-table clash with Manchester City.

But PSG will move in anyway – although they face competition from both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Coutinho is aware of PSG’s interest and has become unsettled at Anfield with the prospect of trophies being more readily achievable abroad.

Bayern Munich Sign Sule
Chelsea have missed out on a key defensive target, as Bayern Munich have reportedly agreed an undisclosed fee for 22-year-old Germany centre-half Niklas Sule with his current club Hoffenheim.

Hoffenheim star reportedly heading for Allianz Arena as Carlo Ancelotti also agrees free transfer for teammate Sebastian Rudy.

The imposing centre-back was a January target for Antonio Conte, who was said to be preparing a stunning £30million bid.

It means Chelsea will be forced to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements yet again despite being favourites for the title.
