The midfielder has showered praises on his teammates who almost held their hosts to a draw in Ilorin
Katsina United’s Tasiu Lawal has praised the doggedness of his teammates who almost picked a point in Ilorin against ABS in a NPFL Match Day 12 tie despite playing without four of their regular players.
Lawal, Destiny Ashadi, Obinna Eleje and Joshua Agboola were all ruled out of the encounter played at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Sunday due to injuries but Lawal in a chat thumbed up the performance of his colleagues that travelled to Ilorin while asserting that had they taken few chances that they created, they would have walked away with at least a point.
“The spate of injuries in the team is something else but I am very delighted with what I heard the team did in Ilorin where I was told they played very well despite the inability of some of the regular players to travel. They had chances and would have shocked their hosts if they had taken them,” Lawal informed Goal.
“We must come back home and revisit some of the lapses noticed in Ilorin with a view to correcting them ahead of our subsequent matches with our weekend game off for now because of Rivers United Caf Champions League assignment.”
