Arsenal vs Burnley: Team news, injuries, possible lineups

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal will today evening clash with Burnley at home in the Premier League.

Wenger’s men head into this clash following their Europa League exit after falling 1- 0 to Atletico Madrid on Thursday in Spain.

The Gunners are currently occupying the sixth position on the Premier League table with 57 points from 35 games.

Laurent Koscielny has been ruled out from this clash, the defender is expected to miss the World Cup with a suspected ruptured Achilles sustained in the first half of Arsenal’s Europa League semi-final defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Midfielder, Mohamed Elneny is out with ankle ligament damage, while Santi Cazorla remains a long-term absentee with an Achilles injury.

Konstantinos Mavropanos could feature after an impressive appearance on his first team debut against Manchester United last week in the Premier League.

Forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to return up front and could play alongside Welbeck, while goalkeeper, Petr Cech is also expected to return.

The likes of Alex Iwobi and Sead Kolasinac will start, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Calum Chambers or Rob Holding are able to fill in for Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi.

Meanwhile, Sean Dyche’s Burnley head into this clash following their goalless draw against Brighton in the Premier League last week Saturday.

Dyche is expected to start his strongest XI in a 4-4-2 formation, with Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes set to partner each other in the attack line.

Burnley have been a revelation in the Premier league this season where they currently sit in seventh position behind Arsenal on the log with 54 points from 36 games.

Dyche’s side have lost one and drawn two of their last three games.

Dyche has no new injuries problem in his squad ahead of this clash.

Burnley potential starting XI: Pope, Lowton, Long, Tarkowski, Ward, Lennon, Cork, Westwood, Gudmundsson, Wood, Barnes

The kick off time for the match is 4:30pm.
