Cristiano Ronaldo made a sensational move to Juventus from Real Madrid in a deal worth €100 million (£89m/$117m), rocking the football world to its very core.
The Portuguese superstar won everything under the sun with the La Liga side and moves to Italy in the hopes that he can add to his legacy of dominating every aspect of European football, including a chance to help Juventus lift a third Champions League trophy.
But how soon can he make his Juventus debut, and will he face up against Madrid when the two sides meet in the International Champions’ Cup this summer in the United States? Goal brings you all the information.
Will Ronaldo play for Juventus in the ICC?
Due to the Portuguese star’s commitments at the World Cup, he will miss the mouth-watering opportunity to come up against his former club when Juventus meet Real Madrid at FedEx Field in Maryland on August 4.
Ronaldo joins a host of other World Cup stars who are set to miss a good chunk of pre-season due to being awarded extended time off, with other Juventus stars such as Paulo Dybala not due to link up with the squad until closer to the start of the season.
Ronaldo announced that he would not begin training at Juventus on July 30, but will do so at the club’s own training facilities in Italy.
The rest of Juve’s pre-season included a 2-0 win over fellow European giants Bayern Munich as part of the International Champions Cup, before a 1-1 draw with Benfica that the Italian side won on penalties.
They then face off against the MLS All-Stars on August 1, finishing up their tour of the United States against Real Madrid three days later.
