The Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University hereby. announces that the position of Vice-Chancellor will become vacant in June. 2019. In accordance with the provisions of the schools Miscellaneous Provisions (now 2007 Act No. 1) 1993 as amended. Council, hereby, calls on applications from fittingly qualified and distinguished Professors with cognate expertise in University teaching, analysis and administration.

The University:

Nnamdi Azikiwe University evolved from the then Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH) that was established by Law No. 7 of 30th July. 1980. With Decree No. 34 July, 1992. (now CAP. N 139, LFN, 2004 ), the University was taken over by the federal government of Federal Republic of Nigeria with monetary result from first September, 1992.

The Vision of the University is to be a world category University that’s engaged within the highest standard of excellence in all aspects of teaching. research and service.
The Mission of the University is to use teaching, analysis and public service to resolve social issues. In the method of learning, students would be oriented to use their education within the resolution of sensible issues confronting them and also the Nigerian society.

The Job:
The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief government and educational Officer of the University also because the ex-officio Chairman of Senate and member of the Governing Council.
He or she is accountable to Council in matters of policy implementation within the space of finance, property/facilities, general administration and smart governance of the establishment.
The Vice-Chancellor is additionally accountable to Senate, administration of educational programme and student discipline, in consonance with existing rules and laws.

The Candidate:

The candidate for the post of Vice-Chancellor is needed to possess a decent degree. master’s degree and a Ph.D. or its equivalent according to the area of specialization and may be a competent manager of human and material resources.

The candidate shall be expected to:

(a) Be extremely distinguished and self-motivated academic of the rank of prof of not but 10 (10) years’ expertise on that rank in a honored University:

(b) Be a made scholar well stock-still within the finest educational traditions with ability to produce academic leadership;

(c) Be an individual with sensible grasp of data and communication technology skills relevant to modern times;

(d) Be an individual of bravery however humane. who will take decisive actions on the benefit of facts and principles:

Terms and Conditions of Service:

The earnings and conditions of service ar as applicable to the post of Vice-Chancellor altogether Federal Universities in Federal Republic of Nigeria and as could also be determined by Council from time to time.

The Vice-Chancellor shall hold workplace for a 1 term amount of 5 (5) years solely.

(b) each candidate shall submit twenty five copies of statement of his/her own Vision and Mission for the University.

(c) within the case of a candidate known and appointive by the Search Team, the resume should be in the middle of a letter of consent, punctually signed and dated by the candidate:

(d) All candidates should indicate in their applications the names and addresses of 3 referees. every referee should be contacted by the applier to forward the confidential report on to the Registrar:

(e) The sealed envelopes containing the finished application ought to be with boldness marked POST OF VICE-CHANCELLOR at the highest hand corner of the sealed envelope:
