The Federal Government has recorded conditions to be met by each school before reopening would be permitted.
The legislature clarified that the measures were to secure students against coronavirus.
Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, made the declaration.
He talked in Abuja on Tuesday at the 2020 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
He said while government Iooks forward to facilitating the Iockdown which will at last lead to re-opening of grounds, the Heads of Institutions ought to initiate arrangements.
The minister instructed them not to hold up till the declaration on re-opening before setting up all measures in consistence with the conventions and warnings of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC)”.
Nwajiuba said all institutions must have hand-washing offices; internal heat level checks and body disinfectants at all entering focuses including the doors, hostels, classes, workplaces, and so forth.
He expressed that the premises of every institutions “must be disinfected”.
The minister coordinated that all endeavors “must be equipped towards upkeep of the most elevated level of cleanliness”.
Schools must guarantee “physical removing in class sizes and meeting spaces”.
He lauded organizations that reacted quickly with various developments, “counting the assembling of a portion of the offices that are required to take care of the COVID-19 pandemic”.
